Oh look at that, two entries in a row! A new record hahah

Well, my iPhoto decided to work! and I found this one photo that I haven't showed that many people. My mother said it wasn't a good photo of me, well.. it's not meant to!

I took this photo one night when I was having a photography "dry spell" It's the worst feeling especially if there is nothing to photograph. This photograph was meant to be about the "materialistic" world. It was meant to have me standing on a pile of shoes etc.. but I couldn't at the time access my collection of shoes as it was locked away :( So instead, I created an image of how I would feel when all that's important to me is gone (inclusive of my shoes..) I call this,

HAUNTED...

It was so difficult as it was my first self portrait and non-natural light photography; to position the camera, get the light to hit where I wanted it to, get the correct facial expression etc. etc. One thing's for sure, I think I'm much better behind the camera than in front :)

I've been really busy with work and study! However, I am so pleased to come and find the number of reader have doubled since I last logged in! Anyhow, as promised; here is a few photos from my very first ever "photo shoot."

At that stage, I had no idea whether I was using the camera settings properly, I had no flash for indoor photography and it was raining like hell.. There was also little preparation of what was to come, I wasn't as prepared as I should have been.. I think we made it work though! It was a really fun, hungry day. Yes hungry because we started at 6 am and I had nothing to eat until the girls started to complain at about 4pm hahahaha

It was a really great experience and I can not wait to have a few more of these over the holiday, most likely with less props because these girls are absolutely stunning. I will post two girls at this stage because my iPhoto is refusing to open..

I do apologize for the logos that are on there, it's my old "watermarks" so to speak.. I'm going to have to come up with new ones!

As I was saying before, these are all taken via natural light, using the kit lens and Canon 400D, nothing too fancy.. I have upgraded my lens but I am waiting to purchase a new body but yes, for the lack of equipment I think I did a fairly great job! Of course, it helps with having beautiful subjects :)

Time to go now, enjoy! Share the love!

It's finally here.... I'll be finishing up on the 18th of June! Unfortunately, that means I won't have much time to write stuff on here since I'll be off studying like the little nerd I am.. So instead, I'll try to upload some of my old photography work each day :) From the  really old stuff, that I did when I first picked up the camera, client work, in-the-moment photos, playing around with cameras and the latest ones that I've done, which isn't many :) but I might as well post a photo now, this is one of my favourite.. Kinda spontaneous

I took this photo on a day trip to Sydney as I live about an hour away. This is my boyfriend Matt.. He is being his usual silly, confident self..

The lighting was perfect, his sternocleidomastoid is showing... which I like haha. I took about three shots and this was the best one.. Good enough for a deodorant ad? :P

As I recalled, I didn't even have to edit this photo. Nice, easy, relaxed :) More to come!

So It's official, I will be going to Indonesia for my cousins' wedding. TWO of them! In the space of 1 week! It's going to be amazing! I was brought up there and moved to Australia when I was 10 years old. I haven't been back in TWO years! Just thinking about it makes me smile...

However, there is one problem.. I tend to let my self go a little during exam periods.. actually lately I have let my self go a lot... It really is time to shape up. Don't get me wrong, I love my body.. I'll never ever be stick thin nor would I ever want to. It suits some people but just not me. I love my curves :) I just think I could tone them up a little.. especially since winter is approaching and you know how people get during winter..

Speaking of indonesia, I just had a blast from the past earlier this morning! I ate one of my favourite childhood food.. It's these Marie biscuits by a company called REGAL. I don't know if anyone has ever had them.. but it's better than milk and cookies. You have them with warm milk and if you took it out on time, it'd be crunchy and crumbly on top with non-sickening softness underneath... if you ever get you hands on these....

Back on exercising, I am going to do daily updates about my exercise routine and photograph/let you know about my progress cause that's something that I always like to see with other people too.. results. Also It would be a great motivator for me and maybe for you too. It'll be black on white and I'd be forced to do it even when I don't feel like it hahaha.

What's on Today?

So today, I will be going for a 30 minutes run followed by 30 minutes of yoga/pilates. I love yoga and pilates!!! I once went and did it for 3 days straight and lost ONE DRESS SIZE! it was amazing... but man did my body hurt in the end.. It was the longest DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) that I've ever had!

Let me know how you're doing for exercises!

First thing you should know about me is that I'm a juggler. I'm one of those people that likes a lot of things and wants to do a lot of things but lack the time. The majority of my time is split between work, university and attempting to salvage what is left of my social life. On top of that, I need to keep feeding my addiction of food, fashion, fitness and fotography.

In saying that I'm a juggler, I don't mean that I'm a good one. I tend to procrastinate, a lot... I am doing it right now. I should really be doing my control mechanism assignment but who wants to be reading up theories on valsalva manoeuvres when I could be looking up my next inspiration for my photography. I'm a huge fan of Tim Walker who just loves to belittle people.... (you'll know what I mean). Here are two of my favourites:

What else to say... I obsess over little things and I am a bit of a perfectionist. I stayed up till' 3 in the AM yesterday perfecting the banner for "House of the Tale Thief" only to find that I had no idea how to get it to sit in the middle of the page. Does anyone?? Please e-mail me if you do.. I am trying to get the hang of this whole blogging thing.

I learnt last night as I was slowly falling asleep that if I don't let things go, nothing will get done so here I am posting my very first blog with my eye slightly twitching at the imperfection of the blog. At least it's my imperfections and mine only. One that I hope to fix soon but will love for now.

I hope that my blog will inspire people. In what way? We shall see together. I can't predict the future but I have great hopes for it.
